We reach the audiences other field teams never do.
Discovery Research is a quantitative marketing research agency working in Ukraine and abroad since 2022. We run telephone (CATI), online (CAWI) and face-to-face (F2F) surveys: our own panel of 124,000 people, a studio with 86 operators, fieldwork in 17 cities and 30+ countries. We survey the general population within 24 hours and recruit even the narrowest audiences.
Four ways to reach a respondent
One project, one tool or a combination of them. We match the method to the audience.
Online surveys
Our own platform and a panel of 124,000 people. Complex question types with images, audio and video, questionnaire branding for the client.
Telephone surveys
A studio with 86 operators, 15–40 working simultaneously on a project. Our own databases, registers and random digit dialling.
More about CATIFace-to-face interviews
Street and address-based recruitment in 17 cities, 100% telephone verification of every street-recruited respondent.
Respondents for IDIs and focus groups
Recruitment of participants for qualitative research tailored to each case, from mass audiences to rare, hard-to-reach segments.
More about recruitmentRespondent sourcing only
You run the study, we take on the field: recruitment, data collection, quality control.
Full-cycle research
End to end: from questionnaire design to solid analytics, conclusions and recommendations. Sample reports
Our own online panel
We grew and manage the panel ourselves — we do not rent it. That means transparent access to profiles, controlled quotas and a fast start in the field.
Geographic distribution of the panel by macro-region.
Hard-to-reach and niche audiences
Every rare segment is a separate recruitment solution. In 2023–2025 we recruited, among others:
- IT specialists and sole traders earning over UAH 120,000 per month
- Owners of new premium cars
- Entrepreneurs whose business was affected by the war
- Homeowners aged 50+ who had gas connected during the past year
- Young people aged 16–24 in large volumes
- Mothers of children under 6 who buy children’s juices and nectars
- Women ready to change their profession
- Military personnel split separately by combat and rear units
- Members of the LGBT+ community
- Regular consumers of non-alcoholic energy drinks
Social media
Targeted advertising on Instagram / Telegram, cooperation with bloggers in narrow niches.
Partnerships
Partnerships with organisations, businesses and public institutions; a network of F2F team leaders.
Targeted platforms
Freelancehunt, Djinni, LinkedIn, industry forums filtered by sector criteria.
Open data
YouControl, Opendatabot, AUTO.RIA, OLX: databases of car owners, sole traders and more.
Fieldwork from Brovary to Tokyo
17 cities for F2F and street recruitment
Our team can also travel to other localities within a region.
We run quantitative online surveys (CAWI) in Ukraine and abroad: from Poland, Germany, Romania and the Baltic states to the USA, Canada, Kazakhstan, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, China and Japan. A study covering several countries can be ordered as a single project: we take on questionnaire programming, access to respondent panels in each market, the field phase and data quality control. Multilingual questionnaires, managed quotas and one combined result data file in SPSS format.
Quality control in numbers
Before the full field launch we run a pilot (soft launch) of 25–50 questionnaires with an interim data check. Below are the specific mechanisms and thresholds we use to reject questionnaires.
- Logic checks and mandatory fields built into the questionnaire at the programming stage
- Automatic rejection: speeders, straightliners, invalid open-ended answers
- Trap questions throughout the questionnaire
- IP and geolocation verification, duplicate control at device level
- Team briefing and questionnaire training before the start
- Back-check of 15% of interviews: audio recording and supervisor listening
- A workload of no more than 200 questionnaires per interviewer
- Mandatory team briefing
- Back-check of 15% of completed interviews: the fact, the duration, the conditions
- A workload of no more than 50 questionnaires per interviewer
Questionnaires that fail quality control are replaced at our expense up to the full agreed sample size.
Our own survey platform
Our own CAWI platform: programming, hosting and field monitoring on our side. Complex methodologies, full control over field status and a data export format that fits your analysis.
Complex instruments
MaxDiff, conjoint, shelf tests with images and video inside questions.
Concept and ad testing
Evaluation of concepts, advertising materials and video ads, including second-by-second slider testing.
Multiple languages
Ukrainian / English / other language splits within one questionnaire with verified translation.
Quota management
Automatic real-time quota closing so the sample does not overshoot.
Live field status
The client sees collection progress and quota fill online throughout the entire field.
Mobile-ready and .sav
Full mobile adaptation; SPSS data export with variable and value labels.
Recruitment sources: not just self-registration
The panel is built through offline recruitment, telephone recruitment and targeted campaigns, not only self-registration. That gives a managed sample structure and access to audiences that self-recruited panels simply do not have.
A technical report with every field project
We show transparently how the sample was actually collected: the field methodology and data quality parameters, not just the final figures.
- Response rate, actual IR (incidence rate) and LOI (length of interview)
- Structure of the achieved sample against the agreed quotas
- The weighting method and the weights themselves
What the client receives

Timing and cost
We do not hide the logic behind the price. The cost depends on the method, the size and complexity of the sample, geography and questionnaire length. We provide a quotation for a specific brief within 1–2 business days.
The most affordable format
Surveys of the general population from our own panel. A ready data file within 24 hours of launch.
Mid-range
Telephone interviews, including representative samples. From a few days depending on the volume.
The highest level
Face-to-face interviews and recruitment of rare and B2B audiences. Up to 2–3 weeks depending on complexity.
What shapes the cost: data collection method (CAWI / CATI / F2F) · sample size and the number of breakdowns · rarity and reachability of the audience (general population or a narrow B2B segment) · geography (Ukraine or several countries) · questionnaire length (LOI) and the complexity of the methodologies (MaxDiff, conjoint, shelf tests) · results format (data file, tabulated report or full analytics).
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to run a survey?
The cost depends on the method (CATI, CAWI or F2F), the size and complexity of the sample, geography and questionnaire length. We calculate the price for a specific brief and provide a quotation within 1–2 business days. An online survey of the general population is the cheapest option, while F2F and rare B2B audiences are the most expensive.
What are the turnaround times for a study?
An online survey of the general population from our own panel takes 24 hours, from questionnaire launch to a ready data file. CATI and F2F, as well as narrow and hard-to-reach audiences, need more time: usually from a few days to 2–3 weeks depending on the volume and the complexity of recruitment.
How is data quality controlled?
A back-check of 15% of completed interviews (for CATI — audio recording and supervisor listening), logic checks and mandatory fields in the questionnaire, automatic rejection of speeders and straightliners, trap questions, IP and geolocation verification, duplicate control at device level. Before the full field we run a pilot of 25–50 questionnaires. Rejected questionnaires are replaced at our expense.
In which countries can you run a study?
In Ukraine and in 30+ countries across Europe, North America and Asia: from Poland, Germany and Romania to the USA, Canada, Kazakhstan, the UAE, China and Japan. A multi-country study is delivered as a single project with a multilingual questionnaire and one combined result data file.
Can you recruit a narrow or hard-to-reach audience?
Yes. We recruit rare segments: military personnel split by type of unit, premium car owners, IT specialists and high-income sole traders, young people aged 16–24, members of the LGBT+ community and others. For each segment we design a separate recruitment solution through social media, partners, targeted platforms and open data.
In what format do you deliver the results?
The price includes access to the platform with real-time statistics, a data file export in SPSS (.sav with labels), CSV and Excel, a tabulated report with significant differences and a technical report (response rate, IR, LOI, sample structure against quotas, weights). An analytical report with conclusions, a press release or a second-by-second ad analysis are available as add-ons.
